Bio

Antoine Loncle (b. 1995)

Antoine Loncle is a Malaysian-French photographer working at the intersection of expanded documentary and analog processes. His practice is rooted in investigations of place, identity, and selfhood, often using photography as a means to explore cultural narratives and personal histories.

After moving to Australia in 2016 to pursue a BA in Photography at Photography Studies College (PSC) in Melbourne, Antoine had the opportunity to learn under some of the country’s most prominent photographic artists, participate in multiple group exhibitions, and self-publish his first photobook, I'll Love You and Leave You, shot in Malaysia. He later attended the OBSCURA Festival workshop led by Leonard Pongo (2017) and developed a mentorship with American photographer Bryan Schutmaat while working on his graduate project, Lines of Flight (2018).

Beyond his personal artistic practice, Antoine actively collaborates with local artists, NGOs, and creative communities, using photography as a tool for storytelling and social engagement. His work frequently intersects with grassroots initiatives, focusing on themes of cultural preservation, marginalized narratives, and historical reinterpretation. Through workshops and commissioned projects, he shares his knowledge of analog photography, aiming to make traditional photographic processes more accessible to new audiences.

Currently based in Malaysia, Antoine continues his long-term documentary projects while deepening his artistic practice through experimental analog techniques and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Open for commissions.
